What we like about Røst Fishing Camp

  • Modern fleet with Rocad boats, Suzuki 70 hp 4-stroke engines and Humminbird Helix 9 plotters on the core models
  • Røst has its own airport (RET) with Widerøe connections, so guests avoid the long drive through Lofoten
  • Filleting room with freezer, drying room for wet gear and fresh water on the floating dock for rinsing equipment

Worth knowing

  • !Røst is a small island with limited services -- plan to shop on the mainland or book full board with the camp
  • !Exposed location at the edge of the open sea means wind can shut down fishing -- check forecasts and plan for shore days

Tips from experienced anglers

  1. 1Fly Widerøe directly to Røst airport (RET) from Bodø and skip the ferry and drive through Lofoten.
  2. 2Use the Humminbird Helix 9 on the Rocad boats actively -- mark reefs and edges, and return to the same waypoint when you find fish.
  3. 3Røst is known for halibut -- try slow-pitch jigging or drifting mackerel fillet over sand bottom at 80–150 metres.
