How do I get to Røst?
Røst has its own airport (RET) with Widerøe connections from Bodø, a 25-minute flight. Alternatively, the Hurtigruten coastal steamer and a local car ferry run from Bodø to Røst in around 4–6 hours. The camp is within walking distance of the Røstlandet harbour.
Does Røst Fishing Camp have a filleting room and freezer?
Yes. The camp has a dedicated filleting room with a freezer, a drying room for wet gear and fresh water on the floating dock for rinsing equipment. Remember the export quota of 15 kg fish and fish products per person aged 12 and over, in force from 2026.
Which species can I catch from Røst?
Røst sits at the edge of the open sea and is known for halibut, cod and saithe. Skrei (winter cod) fishing is strong from February to April, halibut peaks from June to September, and saithe is caught throughout the season. The area lies north of 62°N, so the cod minimum size is 44 cm in coastal fishing.
