What we like about Rorbukaia Skrova
- ✓Private pier with floating dock at the cabin gives an unusually short walk from door to boat
- ✓Skrova sits in the middle of Vestfjorden with fishing grounds in every direction and a short run to deep water
- ✓The driest and sunniest spot in Lofoten -- Skrova has the lowest rainfall and the most hours of sunshine in the region
Worth knowing
- !Only one rental unit -- small groups get the whole cabin, but capacity tops out at 8 guests
- !The boat Perla requires a boat licence, so at least one person in the group must hold a valid Norwegian boat licence
- !Island logistics with ferry transfer mean groceries and extra gear must be planned in advance
Tips from experienced anglers
- 1The Svolvær–Skrova passenger ferry is free and takes 30 minutes. Car ferries run from Skutvik and Svolvær for those bringing a vehicle.
- 2Make sure at least one person in your group has a Norwegian boat licence before booking, otherwise you cannot rent Perla.
- 3Skrova also has four sea kayaks for rent -- a good way to explore the small islets around the island on calm days.
